14/48, is an intensive fast-pace theatre festival, which started over 12 years ago in Seattle, Washington -USA
The name of the festival derives from the unique format of creating and presenting 14 world-premiere short plays over the course of two days, or 48 hours
In January of this year – The Y Theatre and a local university student called Darren Kay – took a trip to experience this wonderful festival – taking in the artistic brilliance and process that followed a very busy 3 days.
Needless to say we were hooked and decided we wanted to give the local community the same chance to embrace the values of the festival –
- Sharing of Artistic Practice
- A Brand New Unique Experience
- TO HAVE FUN !!
Following much valued support we have received permission to use the model and make 14/48 Leicester. We want as many people as possible to experience and enjoy the arts: to be inspired by imagination and creativity, excited by ambition and spectacle, fascinated by the new and unfamiliar. It’s what will help make Leicester an exciting place to artistically innovate and accommodate.
We hope you will join in with us – We promise it is a experience you will never forget.
